Secretariat (March 30, 1970 to October 4, 1989) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse, who in 1973 became the first U.S. Triple Crown champion in twenty-five years and the ninth in history, setting new race records in two of the three events in the Series, the Kentucky Derby, and the Belmont Stakes. Records that still stand today. In the Kentucky Derby he won by 2 1/2 lengths. He won the Preakness by 2 1/2 lengths and he won the Belmont Stakes by 31 lengths.
Secretariat was the son of Bold Ruler (a grandson of Nearco) out of Somethingroyal. He was foaled at Meadow Farm in Caroline County, Virginia. Like the equally famous horse Man o' War, Secretariat was a large chestnut colt and was given the same nickname, "Big Red."

Wonderful job! I love the blending of colors. I am a fan of his. Still have the old cover of time magazine. He was truly inspiring... Will never be another like him.
